Cellulose

Precision installation for Sikeston & Poplar Bluff homes.

Performance Overview

Cellulose is the eco-friendly, high-density alternative for superior attic protection. Composed of up to 85% recycled paper treated with fire-retardants, cellulose provides a much higher "effective R-value" than loose-fill fiberglass because it is denser and more resistant to air convection.

At Vertex, we use professional-grade blowing equipment to ensure a uniform "blanket" of protection. This density makes it particularly effective at preventing heat from radiating from your roof into your living space during those 90-degree days!

Maximum Density

Cellulose is densely packed, significantly reducing air infiltration and blocking outside noise better than standard materials.

Class 1 Fire Rating

Treated with borate-based fire retardants, cellulose actively slows the spread of flames, providing a critical extra layer of safety.

Cellulose Specific Questions

Yes, loose-fill cellulose naturally settles a small amount (typically around 15-20%) after installation. However, at Vertex Insulation, we calculate this expected settling into our installation process. We blow the cellulose at a higher initial depth so that even after it settles, it meets or exceeds your target R-value perfectly.

No. The dust generated during installation is strictly non-toxic paper fiber. It is heavily treated with borates, which are safe for humans and pets but highly irritating to pests and insects. Once it settles in your attic, it remains completely undisturbed.

General Insulation Questions

The right choice depends on your budget, your existing insulation, and whether you are dealing with moisture issues, noise, or extreme temperatures. We provide free site inspections to evaluate your specific structure and give you a no-nonsense recommendation.

Yes. If your current insulation is severely degraded, water-damaged, or infested with pests, we offer complete extraction and disposal services using industrial vacuum systems to prepare the space for a clean, fresh install.
